THE SOMEONEING SCRIPT

A phenomenological framework for inspecting the felt sense of selfhood. Testable hypotheses. Somatic coordinates. Verification probes.

Operating Constraints:

01Not therapy.
02Not spiritual teaching.
03Not medical advice.
04Not a path to attainment.
05A biological audit.
OBSERVATION
MODEL
INFERENCE

All claims are labelled by epistemic status. If a claim cannot be verified ontologically, it remains MODEL, not fact.

Framework Outline

Five Modules

Organised from substrate (behaviour without a pilot) through identity installation, somatic anchoring, metabolic load-shedding, and stateless operation.

The Narrative Exposition

The complete Someoneing Script as a continuous narrative with epistemic markers throughout. Read in sequence.

Glossary

Terms as models. All definitions are functional descriptions, not metaphysical claims.

Someoneing

The active self-model + ownership attribution + defensive narrative control. The felt sense that an inner entity owns experience and pilots behaviour.

Somatic Anchor

Tension patterns that create a felt centre. Common coordinates: ocular (witness), chest/diaphragm (centre), jaw/throat (control of expression).

Validation Loop

Seeking external confirmation to stabilise identity. Cycle: uncertainty → self-monitoring → seek validation → temporary relief → repeat.

Drop

Dereification of the self-model such that it is no longer believed as an entity. Refers only to ending identification with the narrative self-model. Never refers to harming the organism.

Statelessness

Reduced reliance on persistent identity posture. Context used as data, not as self-story.

Vector-Following Automaton

The organism as a system that follows vectors: safety, reward, belonging, energy conservation. This can appear to involve conscious choice but may run without a pilot.

Cockpit Model

The felt sense of an inner someone making decisions. Tends to activate during uncertainty, social evaluation, conflict, or when justifying actions.

Narrative Tax

The metabolic cost of maintaining a continuous self-model: stitching events into stories, carrying meanings forward, tracking obligations and threats.

Safety Paradox

Perceived safety (ego protection, narrative stability) ≠ actual safety (bodily survival + stable function). These can conflict.

Load Shedding

When overhead exceeds capacity, systems shed load: shutdown, burnout-like states, collapse of motivation, sensory intolerance.

First Contraction

A plausible mechanism: the initial bracing event (often related to early threat or uncertainty) becomes the reference point for self-location.

Post-Hoc Narrator

Many systems generate action first, story later. The narrator claims ownership to make behaviour legible.

Defensive Posture

The self-model behaving like a guard. Observable signatures: shallow breath, elevated shoulders, set jaw, ocular fixation, frozen micro-movements.

Scaffolded Self-Model

A self-model learned primarily through mirroring, feedback, social reinforcement, and belonging loops. Socially tuned and automatically maintained.

Constructed Self-Model

A self-model built explicitly through rules, scripts, deliberate masking, and intellectual self-construction. Can feel more mechanical and thus more discoverable.

False Exit

The trap of seeking: the self-model turns its own tension into a project (fix anxiety, achieve enlightenment). This maintains someoneing.

Dereification

The process by which the self-model is seen as a model rather than an entity. Not destroying or transcending it, but recognising it as a simulation.

Overhead

Background cognitive and metabolic cost of identity maintenance: self-monitoring, rumination, impression management, narrative control.

Interface

System Terminal

This terminal mirrors substrate signals and does not validate narratives. Input somatic coordinates and raw sensation data.

SYSTEM STATUS: ONLINE

This terminal mirrors substrate signals and does not validate narratives.

Input somatic coordinates and raw sensation data, or query a specific axiom to proceed.

> Example inputs:

"Pressure behind the eyes, tight chest"

"What is the somatic anchor?"

"SCAN"

About

Operating Parameters

What This Framework Is

  • >A testable MODEL for how the felt sense of selfhood is constructed and maintained
  • >Specific somatic coordinates where this process can be inspected
  • >A method for distinguishing entity from process
  • >Observable predictions about what changes when the self-model is dereified

What This Framework Is Not

  • xMedical advice, psychotherapy, or diagnosis
  • xA claim of supernatural knowledge or spiritual attainment
  • xA substitute for professional support when safety or functioning is compromised
  • xA path to attainment or guaranteed outcomes

Method

The framework operates as an audit system: here is a hypothesis about what is running, here is how to check whether the hypothesis matches the data, here is how to distinguish observation from interpretation. The reader is not asked to believe, but to verify.

Core Verification Sequence:

1) Locate the centre: "Where is the 'one who is reading' located?"

2) Name the substrate: "Is it an entity or a sensation+tension cluster?"

3) Scan anchors: eyes / chest / diaphragm / jaw / throat / belly

4) Check ownership: "Is a thinker found, or only thought-events?"

5) Check defence: "What is being protected right now?"

6) Update: OBSERVED vs INFERRED vs UNKNOWN

Safety Protocol

If the organism is at risk (self-harm intent, inability to function, panic spiral, dissociation/distress, psychosis/mania indicators), pause inquiry and stabilise. Stabilisation is biological containment, not comfort.

01 Stop inquiry immediately

02 Orient to the room (name 5 objects)

03 Feel feet/hands, temperature, weight

04 Drink water

05 Contact a trusted person

06 Seek professional support if symptoms persist or worsen
